This is a great question of why writing is important to you. Think about why you want to write. I told the story in class that I learned at a very young age from my mom that writing words down can be very powerful and that one needs to be careful what they put in writing. I also learned from my mom that written letters are a reminder and a wonderful memory that someone can have. Writing can be books, journals, letters, emails, papers and just notes! Why do you write?

For your first assignment, I want you to write your goals for this year. What are three goals that you have for yourself in school and three goals that you have for yourself outside of school?
