Write about a time that you were really sad. Think about Number the Stars and when their father and Peter were so depressed about they were about Lise's death. Look back in the story for the description of how they were afterwards. Share a time that you felt that sadness and emptiness.

Now is the time for the reflection of your retelling of your myth story. Write what SLR you used and explain how this project supports this SLR. Write about why you are proud of this piece of writing and what you did well. Also, write how you could make this piece better. What was the most challenging aspect of the assignment and how did you overcome this challenge? What have you learned that you will apply to your next writing assignment? Why write?

This is a great question of why writing is important to you. Think about why you want to write. I told the story in class that I learned at a very young age from my mom that writing words down can be very powerful and that one needs to be careful what they put in writing. I also learned from my mom that written letters are a reminder and a wonderful memory that someone can have. Writing can be books, journals, letters, emails, papers and just notes! Why do you write?

I am so excited to share your journey this year in seventh grade. We have many adventures ahead of us and one way to record our journey is through your own personal blogs! For your first assignment, I want you to write your goals for this year. What are three goals that you have for yourself in school and three goals that you have for yourself outside of school? Please write how you are going to achieve these goals, what you need to accomplish them, who can help you and when you know that they will be achieved.
